ISACA commits to 15,000 certification exams delivered in the EU by the end of 2020 within our various offerings to further the career development of information and technology governance, cyber security, audit and assurance professionals.
A constantly changing landscape of ever-evolving technologies and security threats makes certifications, credentialing, and continued professional education more important than ever. At the same time, results of ISACA’s 2018 State of Cybersecurity Study show the difficulty that enterprises continue to experience in recruiting qualified personnel to fill security positions.
ISACA commits to answering this urgent call for skilled IT security and audit professionals in Europe, building on its membership strength, vision and global reach.

As an independent, nonprofit, global association, ISACA engages in the development, adoption and use of globally accepted, industry-leading knowledge and practices for information systems. Previously known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, ISACA now goes by its acronym only, to reflect the broad range of IT governance professionals it serves.

Qualitative Impact

Our activities in the area of credentialing and certification are aimed at improving career prospects of information systems governance, security, audit and assurance professionals in Europe and increasing their mobility while simultaneously ensuring quality, as well as providing a greater level of assurance for employers. These activities will also help to ensure that information and cyber security workforces are filled with well-skilled, high-quality professionals, prepared to tackle the challenges of an ever-shifting security landscape. This will also feed into the EU efforts to strengthen its Digital Single Market and the entire region’s digital economic ecosystem.

ISACA has a holistic learning portfolio to support the professional development of information technology professionals and those interested in pursuing careers in IT audit, risk, security or governance. Modalities include self-paced, virtual events and virtual instructor led offerings.

Collaboration with schools and companies ISACA’s onsite training programs are available throughout Europe to small, medium and large enterprises. ISACA pledges to place an increased focus on SMEs and public sector entities, who face more challenges when it comes to cybersecurity skills shortages and attracting the right talent. This will be achieved via a targeted outreach to SMEs. ISACA sees this as a complementary approach which enhances overall security within the public and private sector digital ecosystems. ISACA partners with universities (through ISACA chapters) to support programs in security, audit, risk and governance. 0 N/A
Delivery of certifications ISACA’s portfolio of experience-based certifications has provided ISACA the recognition of being the global leader in business technology certifications. ISACA’s Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) certifications are accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under the International Standard ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024:2012. ISACA’s certifications are attained via a mixture of practical examinations (e.g. in physical and virtual laboratory simulations), and more traditional reading-based examinations. The content of our labs is developed based on real-life cyberattacks, to ensure a high degree of applicability. We believe this approach to be more likely to result in fully-rounded cybersecurity professionals, who have experience beyond a “classroom” environment by being asked to apply what they have learned in practice and in conditions which are as realistic as possible. Target: 15,000 certification exams delivered by the end of 2020. 15,000 N/A
