On February 8, The Tech Career GPS Program begins, oriented to careers of the future, promoted by Le Wagon in partnership with the Lisbon City Council (CML) - Future of Work Initiative. The online training program, with free access, has 250 vacancies and seeks match the needs of the labor market in terms of upskilling and reskilling as a way of accelerating the response to technological transformation, currently exponentiated by the pandemic context COVID-19.

The focus is on the acquisition and development of crucial skills in the future of work, namely, programming, data analysis and design and the mobilization of tools complementary to digital skills. Support resources and support will also be made available clues to guide participants in the search for jobs in the digital age, with great demand in the job market. Over the course of four weeks, several workshops will be held by Le Wagon - Programming School that ranks 1st in the rankings of the best programming bootcamps - and thematic panels that aim to contribute to collaborative learning, sustained in a dialogue with specialists and testimonies of several professionals of the tech area, including Landing Jobs, and some other tech companies.

The program has, as priority recipients, individuals who seek to increase their employability potential in the labor market oriented towards digital skills and / or a career change, as well as entrepreneurs & amp; freelancers - in need to invest in digital skills for the development of your business / projects. Not requiring prior knowledge in programming languages.

According to Margarida Figueiredo, Municipal Director of Economy and Innovation, of the Lisbon City Council (CML), “Lisbon has sought to position itself as an active agent in the promotion and attraction of talent in areas identified as critical for the economy of City. The tech areas are definitely one of our priorities. By Future of Work initiative, we have been developing partnerships that contribute to the promoting employment and employability. We are convinced that this type of partnership and free training programs have a very positive impact on the creation of new dynamics of learning and innovation and the mobilization of the community in favor of a more qualified, inclusive and sustainable employment ”.
