CISCO pledges to train refugees in Germany + Denmark using CISCO Networking Academy which will enable these refugees to be career-ready through industry certifications and accelerate their entrance in the digital workforce of the European Union. Furthermore a "Digital Women's Programm" was set up with the partner ReDI School (www.redi-school.org). This program has the target group of women without prior IT skills and provides basic digital literacy to prepare for a large variety of jobs in the modern economy.
Implementation: 10+ NGOs have been developed as Networking Academy partners. Support was provided to ramp up with the learning platform. Instructors were trained and Cisco employees were active as volunteer teachers. Topics of volunteer classes were cloud computing, IoT and Cybersecurity.
More than 1,000 participants from the refugee target group developed skills with the e-learning courses of the Cisco Networking Academy (650 in courses at the key partner ReDI School)
