The aim of the pledge of WINGS ICT Solutions is to achieve the following: (a) get access to requirements of strong industrial companies of the coalition and in general in the labour market, in terms of human resources and (b) create new business by developing systems that can contribute to the augmentation of skills (upskill/ reskill) of employees/jobseekers, so as to develop high level digital skills for ICT professionals in different industry sectors. WINGS, among other fields of expertise and experience, develops systems through state of the art technologies and is particularly interested in cognitive systems for learning. Furthermore, WINGS gets subcontracts to develop systems for other companies. WINGS has an extensive network of collaborators that includes foreign universities, as well as national and international private and public organisations. WINGS can provide in a long term the following resources: (a) human resources (workers, jobseekers, ICT personnel) and (b) ICT resources (computing and storage infrastructure, software systems). In summary, WINGS has all the key ingredients (e.g., objectives, resources, processes) for becoming a key contributor to the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition.

WINGS ICT Solutions is a fast-growing SME, which focuses on the development of software for various vertical sectors (namely, water, energy, smart cities, food safety, health, transportation, finance) through advanced wireless, cloud/IoT, big data and security technologies

Qualitative Impact

The target is to contribute to the creation of highly skilled employees, who will be able to fulfill the skills’ demand of companies, as well as enable themselves to claim better job positions for their own professional and personal development. Moreover, professionals will be upskilled or reskilled, so as to better fit to the requirements imposed by industrial stakeholders. In this way there will be increase in the number of employees having special skills, which at the same time fit companies’ needs in human resources, thus decreasing the levels of unemployment, especially as far as young workers/jobseekers are concerned. To this end, WINGS will invest to peoples’ skills, so as to enable even more professionals-citizens to be active in our digital society, by participating to the state-of-the-art projects of high profile industrial companies. Further collaborations/subcontracts with industrial partners and companies that WINGS has links with, will be of course established.
