In the past decade, Microsoft Italy has promoted different initiatives to foster gender equality at work and encourage STEM career paths for young women. Since 2013, under the umbrella brand of “Nuvola Rosa - Pink Cloud”, Microsoft offers to girls between 13 and 24 years an extensive programme of free training focused on STEM subjects (computer science, coding, app development, etc).
Microsoft is pledging to train in-person 2,500 girls in 2018, supported by peer-to-peer activities made in schools and sustained in partnership with Fondazione Mondo Digitale. Recently Nuvola Rosa-Pink cloud extended its technology education offer to little girls at primary and secondary schools (K-12) by creating a stimulating environment for children to explore STEM.
