AFOL Metropolitana & EMIT Feltrinelli

“JobforIT” is a stable partnership founded by AFOL Metropolitana and EMIT Feltrinelli with other labour market and Vocational and Educational Training actors, in the city of Milan. It brought together a large network of high schools and enterprises from the IT sector, digital startups and stakeholders.

JobforIT is pledging to actuate a programme called “Digital Jobs Academy”,  to improve and consolidate its partnership in the Milan area and create more opportunities and regional connections between actors working with young students on one side, and NEET (Young person who is Not in Education, Employment, or Training) and unemployed people on the other. This network of private and public actors will offer:

  • To 300 students, young people and NEETs: basic services, such as guidance, digital training (profiles: software and app developer, system and network administrator, database manager, web digital specialist, IOT...), tutoring, internship placements, job matching and certification of competencies;
  • To a local system of 20 educational institutions (high schools, VET institutions): teachers’ training activities involving enterprises. Training will be focused on elements of job culture, latest innovations and new needs of enterprises, digital skills more demanded in local labour market. Training will help teachers and trainers learn how to design learning activities connected to real needs of enterprises and how to prepare students to be recruited.

Young people are provided with certifications and need specific job-oriented intensive learning experiences (technical training, digital practice in Labs, practical workshops and internships). Most of these actives are funded with FSE funds, granted by the Lombardy Region through specific public calls. Some guidance and advising activities for young people and for schools are financed with national and local funds.

AFOL Metropolitana

AFOL Metropolitana, the Metropolitan Agency for Training, Orientation and Job Services, is a special consortium company currently owned by the Metropolitan City of Milan and 40 Municipalities.

EMIT Feltrinelli

EMIT Feltrinelli has been working in the field of vocational education and training since 1928. EMIT operate in various areas, especially those characterised by advanced technical contents which require constant update and result in high job opportunities.

Qualitative Impact

• Targeted actions towards young people, aimed at providing direct services (guidance, training, internships), will increase their employability and empowerment;
• At the strategic level, the partnership guarantees that all the efforts necessary to ensure collaboration, synergy, complementarity of partners and services are made to increase young people’s employability;
• Teachers’ training and connection activities will impact ideas, skills and behaviors of people who work in high schools and VET institutions. This will facilitate the growth of the whole system.
